House of Magic
House of Magic
Every couple hopes for a magical experience on their big day but for a more literal touch, we've discovered a new spot in town: Simon Drake's House of Magic.

Located a just a mile from the Houses of Parliament, the property is a lavish spot which can play host to reception parties of up to 150. The wedding party can make their entrance through the Enchanted Garden - ideal for those wedding snapshots - into the red reception room, where Gothic style, warm red hues and open fireplaces are on display.

For those after a sense of drama, the speeches, dancing and entertainment can all take place in the theatre-style auditorium then, for a more relaxing time, guests can seek out the drawing room for a little time out.

For a bit of fun, couples can take their guests ghost-hunting in the basement. Plus, with fortune tellers and close-up magicians on hand to keep people entertained, it's ideal for those after a wonderfully quirky time on the big day.

Bridesmaids come in all shapes and sizes, so if you're searching for the perfect dresses you might want to take a peek at online wedding boutique, Styleshake.co.uk, to personally design the perfect gowns.

StyleShake allows you to choose matching dresses tailored to every kind of body shape, available in an array of colours and fabrics.

"It is a real dilemma for the bride to make a decision about which styles of dresses to choose for her bridesmaids on the day," says StyleShake CEO Iris Ben Davis. "She knows that her girlfriends all have different areas that they would like to reveal and conceal and unique tastes, but at the same time she has an aesthetic in mind and a mood she wants to capture. StyleShake's aim is to eliminate this pressure and make the process fun and exciting!"

The dresses are available in colours including orchid, wine, poppy and teal. And for wedding parties who order three or more dresses, they can benefit from a 10 per cent discount. Visit www.styleshake.co.uk to find out more.

Introducing...Brides at Work
Introducing...Brides at Work
Talk about bridal parties in unexpected places... We here at County Wedding Magazines are proud to be supporting the new Brides at Work campaign - a national day on 17th September when brides old and new from all over the country will be wearing their wedding dresses to work to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

In association with The National Wedding Show, brides, bridesmaids, grooms and mother-of-the-brides everywhere are being urged wear their wedding finery and celebrate Brides at Work.

Even if you don't own a wedding dress, you can show your support in other ways. Why not have some fun and get the girls together to host an office bake sale in your tiaras?

It doesn't matter if you got married 20 years ago, or it's currently a work in progress, anyone can help raise money for the fight against breast cancer. For more information, or to register for a Brides at Work fundraising pack, visit www.breakthrough.org.uk/get_involved/raise_money/brides_at_work/
