New game reserve opens

Just 15 minutes from The Garden Route and halfway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, Gondwana Game Reserve makes the easiest safari add-on to a Cape Town honeymoon. Unlike most safaris, guests choosing to stay at Gondwana don't have to deal with the usual lengthy plane ride or the typical four-hour bounce down bumpy roads. The drive along the Garden Route to Gondwana couldn't be more relaxing – or more scenic. Gondwana is the biggest reserve in the Southern Cape. This malaria-free 'big five' safari has 11,000 hectares for its animals to roam in, with views to the Outeniqua mountain range. Conservation and sustainable management of the indigenous flora and fauna is a key objective.

The perfect itinerary for Gondwana starts in Cape Town, with guests then driving along the world-famous Garden Route before arriving at Gondwana Game Reserve. After a few days' wildlife spotting, finish off the trip with an Indian Ocean beach break.

It's tricky to fit in those all-important photographs without missing the canapes, but would you consider holding the Mr and Mrs shoot before or after the day?

Yes - we're planning to stage a first look shoot before we walk up the aisle

Yes - we'll be donning our wedding regalia after we get back from honeymoon for a rock my frock extravaganza

No, I want to stick to tradition and get the shots on the day itself
